I've always been a girl who likes to stay fairly close to home, so I've lived in the same house since I was born (accept for moving an hour away to college). I don't really like change or having to adjust to a new place, but I LOVE to travel & explore (which almost seems like an oxymoron)! Ever since I was little, my family has traveled to different states, camping along the way. I think those are definitely some of my fondest memories from growing up, traveling to new places and exploring a different city, state, etc.
However, every place I have ever traveled has been through road trips (talk about having hours stuck in a car with 4 other people + a dog down to an art).....I have NEVER once stepped foot on an airplane but that will eventually have to change that one day as my BIGGEST dream is to visit the UK (as in Scotland, Ireland, and England). When I say BIGGEST dream I really do mean BIGGEST dream because one, I have to take a plane (over an ocean) two, because I can't go alone so I need a trusty travel partner (any volunteers) and three, because this college student doesn't have the funds to hop on a plane and fly to a different country (any sponsors), but nevertheless that dream will eventually become a reality one day and when that day comes I will be ready for whatever adventures lie ahead!
With that being said you can bet that this look will be what I wear on the plane! I saw this sweatshirt through a few bloggers on Instagram who were traveling and absolutely fell in love with it. Thankfully I was able to pick up the last one in the store when I visited Old Navy a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite thing to swear as it is super soft and cozy! I loved how Old Navy styled this sweatshirt over a button up shirt so when I found this checkered button up (also a repeat from Tuesdays post) I knew it would be perfect.
Since the shirt combo gave off a slight casual preppy vibe I decided to pair it with my new favorite thrifted & stretchy jeans from Nine West and finish off the look with my go to white converse and a red mini satchel. All in all, I think this is probably one of my favorite casual combos to date and will definitely take me on many adventures in the future!
BON VOYAGE!
Where is a place you want to visit one day?

Love this casual look; it would be perfect for travel! Old Navy does the best casual wear...And the touches of gingham underneath are just perfect. I can't believe you've never been on a plane before; I know you'll love it when you do go. And if you're ever short a travel buddy (be it to the UK or, ya know, Florida), I'm always game!!
ReplyDeleteHaha...yeah, never been on a plane! Totally taking you up on your offer whenever I go to the UK...traveling with a fellow blogger would be such fun:)

There are a lot of places I would love to go! Hawaii, Switzerland, Austria, England, Israel, and I had better stop thinking. I am somewhat used to flying since all of the extended family lives more than half-way across the country. It took a larger family to start the road trips! But those have been so much fun. I like it better than flying.
ReplyDeleteI will be moving to Texas shortly, and so the road trips to visit grandparents will be shorter! Maybe we can see them more than once every other year or once a year? Flying will be much more attainable for my budget to visit them by myself too. Or my brother in Virginia.
I know what you mean about being a home body, but at the same time wanting to explore and see new places.

All of the places you want to travel are amazing! How fun that you are moving to Texas soon! That will be so nice for you all to see your grandparents more often:)

The UK is absolutely amazing! I hope you get to go soon. Have you thought about studying abroad?
ReplyDeleteI've got so many places on my list it's a bit ridiculous. But I am planning a trip to Montreal and Quebec City in May, which I am SO excited about!

I haven't actually thought about studying abroad (maybe I should look into that?). Your current plans sound amazing!

My biggest dream place I would like to travel to is Glacier National Park in Montana. We would have to fly in a plane. I have only been on a plane on our Honeymoon to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. Yes I was scared, all was fine looking back 30 years ago. Your outfit looks very comfy perfect for traveling:) Have a great weekend! Stephanie
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie. Glacier National Park sound fantastic!

That is the CUTEST sweater! I'm very tempted to get one for myself but I just spent a little too much at Madewell today.
ReplyDeleteAnd until last year (when I was 26), I had never been on a plane. I finally broke my streak when I went to Florida with my then-boyfriend. And ever since, I want to go everywhere! I'll be all over the country this summer and maybe next year I'll finally go overseas.
I think Madewell definitely trumps Old Navy, but you should get one:) Glad to know I am kind of in the same boat as you on the whole "plane travel" thing:)
DeletePretty sure once I go I won't want to stop!

Layering over button ups is one of my favorite styles! I'll actually be going on a mission trip to Ireland for my spring break in a couple of weeks, so I'll keep your traveling look in mind!
