About

If you happen to find yourself on this page, reading a little bit about me, than welcome! I am probably drinking a cup of coffee as we speak, so just think of this as a “get to know me” coffee date (because, let’s be honest, coffee and conversations with new friends is the best), but enough with coffee and on to who I am!

Hello! My name is Madison. I am the creator, writer, and curator for Invintaged, a thrifted + vintage inspired fashion and lifestyle blog. I am a High School Family & Consumer Science Teacher, blogger, reader, avid coffee drinker (obviously), thrifter, crazy cat lady, writer, vintage lover, old soul, and passionate Jesus follower! When I am not working on lesson plans and teaching, you will probably find me sewing, reading one of my many books, writing up the latest post, traveling the world (on my school breaks), or traipsing around with my camera and tripod, searching for the perfect picture location. Obviously I LOVE coffee, which means I also love Gilmore girls, which goes without saying that I love pizza, ice-cream, donuts, pop tarts, Chinese food, and well, you get the pictureJ  I also love anything BBC (because #anglophile and major British and Royal Family fanatic) and nearly any other period drama I can get my hands on, I love to watch web series based off of books, as well as watching super nerdy TV shows like Agents of Shield, The Flash, etc. (admitting my super nerdy side here).

If you haven't guessed by that long declaration, I am an Introvert (an INFJ or the 1% to be exact) which makes what I do on Invintaged so important to me because I get to share what I love through writing, connect with lovely people, and meet fellow Introverts that understand my crazy mind....my personality is a HUGE part of who I am and what makes Invintaged unique.

I started Invintaged in the fall of 2014 (formerly known as "minnie muse" before a name change in 2020) to share my love for vintage, and all things style with others who share similar passions. This blog was inspired by my grandmother, Minnie, who was a fantastically fashionable lady, artist, party planner, and all around talented woman. It is because of her that I have a love for days gone by and the memories and stories stitched into garments from other eras. I also have a love for sewing my own clothes and recreating looks inspired by fashions from the past, thanks’ to my other grandmother who taught me how to sew. Vintage will always be my first love, because it fills me with confidence, inspiration, and makes me feel like the best and most confident version of myself!

I hope you enjoy your time here as you peak into my life, read what is on my heart, see my latest thrifted/vintage treasure, discover what I love, and at the end of the day are inspired to embrace "YOU" because there is no one quite as unique as the original masterpiece:)

It’s crazy to think how far this space has come in 6 years, but it has been one of the most exciting adventures and I am thrilled you have found yourself here to tag along. I hope you enjoy what inspires me and that we get to know each other better!

  8. Well my goodness! :)
I have seen you comment on the Boyer Sisters' blog many a time, but finally clicked on your link. Firstly wanted to say that I absolutely love your blog name!
I found the Boyer Sisters by accident, actually-- just stumbled upon them on Pinterest one day. They have inspired me in so many ways to incorporate everyday vintage fashion into my life!
Like you, I always thought I was born in the wrong time and would gawk at old pictures and old-fashioned clothes all the time! Now I have learned how to make it into a reality. I will definitely continue to visit your blog regularly from here on out. :)

  14. I love this blog! It's fun to read writing by another person who actually knows what an IN-anything is :) I'm an INTP, fellow Texan, anglophile and coffee lover too! It's hard for us to connect since none of us talk very much.
