In the words of my mom:
"Your outfit today matches the surroundings quite well. Did you pick it out that way on purpose?
It turns out that I quite like to dress for the occasion or adventure and this was no exception.......

If you follow me on Instagram you might remember that I took a trip to Magnolia Market at the end of December. I had been meaning to visit Magnolia Market ever since the summertime, but time got away from me and alas I finally made it at the end of the year. It turned out to be a rather chilly and rainy day when we decided to take a trip to the silos, but that somehow made the adventure all the more exciting.

I have found that most people visit Magnolia Market because they are HUGE fans of the TV show "Fixer Upper," but the funny thing is that I only just saw "Fixer Upper" a few days before visiting. It is suffice to say that I am completely in love with "Fixer Upper" now (and desperately need my own place to fix up). I loved walking through the store and seeing all of the simple and lovely decorations and home wear that truly inspire you to go and spruce up a room or an entire house.

After we spent some time going through the shops and walking around outside we went to stand in line for cupcakes. As a cupcake "connoisseur" myself, I always love the adventure and experience of visiting new cupcake shops and try to make it a point to visit one whenever I travel somewhere new. The "Silo Baking Co." was no exception and I am now their BIGGEST fan! If I had a cupcake shop (which used to be my dream) I think it would look much like theirs in its simplicity, yet dedication to making delectable treats. When we finally ordered I settled on the Lemon Lavender cupcake (suggested by Chrisy of Collard Cashmere) and I must say that it was heavenly!

All in all it was a wonderful and adventurous day and I am so glad that I finally got to visit.

Have you been to Magnolia Market?
Are you a fan of the cupcakes?

  1. So glad you had fun, despite the drizzly weather! And I agree with your mom--your outfit definitely matches the effortless chic of magnolia ♥ I'm glad you loved the cupcake! I have a friend who works there and whenever I come down to Waco I bring Sprinkles, and when she comes up to Dallas, she brings Magnolia! Friendship personified in cupcakes is the best type of friendship, in my opinion lol.
