HAPPY 2017....man, that is going to take awhile to get used to! I hope that the new year is off to a great start for the rest of you. As the wonderful holiday season comes to an end I am excited to see all that the new year has to offer, especially in regards to the blog. However, I wanted to share a quick outfit from my Christmas break while I start planning out posts for the new year.
On Christmas Day we went to Galveston Island to stay a couple of days with my Grandparents at a condo. Oddly enough, the weather was warm, muggy, foggy, and completely not like winter at all! It was one of those times where it feels a bit like summer mixed with a billion other seasons which makes it nearly impossible to pick out an outfit and figure out what to wear. With that being said I went for a summer/fall/winter ensemble with my gingham midi skirt, quarter length sweater, neck scarf, and lace up flats.
The combo turned out perfectly for the weather we were experiencing, and as I tend to dress for the setting or occasion I feel that it perfectly matched my island/bay setting near the water on the coast. However, the mugginess is nearly gone in the new year and cool temperatures have slowly started greeting us. I anticipate the winter season to finally feel like it in the coming weeks so that I can bundle up in jackets, scarves, and hats (even if I complain sometimes about the cold).
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
How is the weather where you are?

I'm quite jealous of your warm weather. It's cold and miserable here where I live! I'm just counting down to the first day of Spring (77 days by the way). I love your shoes! I have them in blue and would love them in brown also! Thanks for another inspiring post!

Please send some of that weather this way!! At the moment, we are getting freezing rain along with some snow. The high on Wednesday is supposed to be 3 degrees! I like winter, but it's just a little too cold for me right now.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit too!!
That's cold! That would probably be to cold for me, but I do miss the cold.

Totally love your cute outfit! Looks like a nice place to visit. Our weather has been foggy and drizzling in the mid 30's. We went to Elephant Rocks State Park and were able to walk through all the trails. We did enjoy our day. Happy New Year! Stephanie
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like and exciting adventure.

I love that outfit. It is gorgeous. Those shoes really caught my eye. Glad you had a good time.

This is a fun look; it has a late 50's early 60's vacation feel with the palm tree atmosphere! :) It's been cold and rainy over here, so it's definitely sweater time!
