The leaves are slowly, but surely changing colors in my neck of the woods and I love seeing all of the fallen leaves on the ground as I am walking to class. The weather has finally started to cool off and all week it has been in the low 70's......it has been heavenly! However, fall never officially arrives for me until it begins to cool off and the leaves start changing colors, the best part is when you walk outside one morning and it actually "smells like fall"......still waiting for that morning.
I can't help but realize that many of my clothes this fall are actually the colors of fall, especially this dress. I found this dress at Target at the beginning of the season and finally snagged it over labor day when it was on sale. This dress definitely gets me into the fall spirit and is truly the comfiest dress ever! Midi dresses are a great style for me (#longlegs) because they are the perfect length and I love that this dress is a slightly modern take on 1970's fashion (which always seems to be what I lean to in the fall). Pairing this dress with a felt hat and sued ankle boots definitely gives it more of a 70's vibe and I can't wait to wear it more this season.
Do you ever wear the colors of fall?
Is it finally fall in your neck of the woods?

Love your dress!!! It's fall where I live (about mid 60s) but I confess that I'm holding off switching out my clothes😁 I don't think I'm quite ready for fall, even though I love the colors. I think I'm definitely more of a spring person. In general spring colors look best on me. Even though I wish fall colors would also look good on me. BTW I just love your blog it's my favorite!!!💞
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have even looked into what colors look good on me? Even if fall colors didn't look good on me I might be to obsessed to care:) Thanks for your sweet comment.....you are the best!

Adore this outfit!! :D

Your bangs are lovely. They also make you look like Taylor Swift. I am on a hairstyle high myself from chopping of my 14" in a "Parisian" angled bob.
ReplyDeleteI like fall colors on people who can pull them off . . . which does not include me. I want to work with using materials to bring out cool season vibe, like chunky sweaters and velvet
Haha...so funny you should say that Rachelle, because over the past 5 years every hairstyle I have gotten has seemed to mimic Taylor Swift...especially this hairstyle:)
DeleteI am all for using materials that that bring out the cool season bibs and chunky sweaters and velvet are FAB!

Your bangs!!!!! They're gorgeous!! I'm a little envious right now. I have bangs, but they don't look nearly as good as yours. Ah well. :) I do want to think of styling them differently...you've given me new inspiration. :D
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is perfection as well. I have a hat quite similar to yours, except in cranberry red. I haven't worn it out yet, but I'm dying to! :D
Thanks Natalie! I am thinking of doing a post talking about them, considering it was an experience S I cut them myself :0 Ah...your hat sounds fabulous! My best friend has a hat that color and it a gorgeous for fall!

You look so lovely and autumnal!!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm more and more noticing myself wearing earthy tones in autumn too - even though black and denim are my forever favorites, it's nice to mix in gentler tones like camel and olive. <3
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I think the earthy tones of this fall are so flattering! You should try incorporating them with your denim:)

Love your bangs! So cute! Honestly when I saw the first picture I thought you looked like Natalie Grant (in this picture https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.klove.com%2Fimages%2Fmusic%2Fartists%2Fbios%2Fnatalie-grant-medium.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.klove.com%2Fmusic%2Fartists%2Fnatalie-grant%2F&docid=eqfq6rnU5AbMnM&tbnid=bKPk3gJrC8qA3M%3A&w=315&h=200&hl=en-us&client=safari&bih=528&biw=320&ved=0ahUKEwj_gubR37zPAhUEYyYKHdILCtcQMwh_KFIwUg&iact=mrc&uact=8), but I agree with all the comments saying that it looks that Taylor Swift. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and your outfits!
Thanks Lauren! I can see how the bangs look like Natalie Grant:) Your so sweet.

The dress is really pretty, it's perfect for fall! I love fall colors: brown, copper, beige...However, it's still really hot here so I'll be wearing my summer clothes a little longer :)

I feel you with the heat...I still haven't been able to start wearing all my fall clothes, though some days I sacrifice heat for fall clothes:)

I SO love that dress! The print is so perfect for fall. (And I adore the floppy hat--again, so perfect for fall!)
ReplyDeleteHaha...thanks Devinne:)

This outfit is so perfectly fall, and looks so "Anthropologie" to me! I'm also loving your haircut-- I'm toying with the idea of going back to bangs, but I'm so indecisive!

Thanks Lauren, it definitely looks more Anyhropologie now that I look at it! I remember you with bangs and they looked great, but I totally understand the indecisiveness....

It is finally showing fall in Oregon. The leaves have been changing for quite awhile now, but we finally have the smell of fall and the cool crisp mornings that I love although I freeze. :)
ReplyDeleteYour dress definitely "read" as 70's to me. The fabric reminds me of some that I have seen as I shop around for new fabrics for my stash. :) I have far too many fabrics (that have planned projects, I assure you!) waiting around. I am sure that I really don't have too much to complain about. I am sure that there are quite a few projects that you wish you could get to if college allowed.

The weather in Oregan sounds beautiful!!! I am definitely jealous of your fabric stash, but I definitely don't get much time to sew with college taking up lots of time:(

I love that dress, it is so typical Fall.

Awesome outfit! That is really one of the loveliest fall nature inspired prints I've seen in a good long while. I adore this dress and the timelessly beautiful setting you found to capture it against.

Thank you Jessica, I couldn't agree more:)

Ooh, I like this 70's inspired look! The dress has all the right colors, and your new bangs are fun! :) The weather in my neck of the woods has turned, though the past couple of days have been fairly warm.
ReplyDeleteThank you Paige! So glad to hear you have nice weather where you are:)
