If you have a sister you know what it is like, you know how special that relationship is (or can be). My sister and I are complete and polar opposites! For starters I am the pale blonde ghost and she is the tan brown goddess. I am also super old fashioned and have a quirky style while she thinks I am weird and would rather wear sport shorts and a tshirt every day. I like fancy details while she could care less about them. She likes to spend time with her friends almost every chance she gets, while I like to have alone time.
However, despite our many differences we are also psychically linked (like most sisters). If one of us starts laughing the other is bound to join in as the room erupts in a chorus of dying walruses (our laughs are weird....just take my word for it). We often times finish each others sentences or say the same thing at the same time. Jamming to High School Musical and Camp Rock is our favorite thing to do in the car and we love to watch cheesy movies. Give us to much coffee and sugar and things are bound to get crazy :)
Having a sister is so special, because you have a built in best friend. I didn't always appreciate our relationship until I moved away to college. With the distance we actually got closer and I am forever thankful she is always there to hear my rants, make fun of me, suggest we go shopping, and be my go to dance partner at weddings.
If you are looking at the pictures and wondering if we dress matching often the answer would be NO. Apart from the fact that we have completely different styles, Taylor isn't a big fan of us wearing the same thing (she once got mad at me for buying white converse when she bought hers). However, a month ago we were shopping at Forever 21 and found these cute "Sisterhood" shirts, without a second thought we both decided we NEEDED to get them to wear and take pictures in (if nothing else). This was such a fun photo shoot to do and even more fun having my sister by by side!

I'm always up for an adventure (as long as you give me at least 1-2 days notice)! Looking back on my life I can't help but remember the many adventures I have been on. My family is definitely big into traveling, camping, and taking road trips to different states which has fueled my love for adventure and visiting new places. While I might not always like stepping outside of my comfortable life and town, I do love the little adventures that come up.
I am always excited to see a new city, spend time in nature, explore shops in a historic town, and look out the window as the countryside flies by in a blur. Adventure fills me with wonder and longing to see more!
Over spring break my family and I took a quick road trip up to visit my brother in Belton Texas, a small quaint and lovely town in Texas. We set up camp at the lake and enjoyed time in the great outdoors, going to my brothers baseball games, finding a hole in the wall coffee shop, eating he best BBQ, and walking around historic downtown Belton....it was the perfect getaway and adventure!
Since going on the trip required a mini road trip I had to pull out this darling shirt that one of my best friends made for our road trip last May. I decided to pair the shirt with my favorite high waisted jeans for comfort, a pair of white sneakers, and a hat to keep the sun off my face. Definitely love how comfortable this look was, but also how perfect it was for an adventure!

I don't know if you have ever been to a drive in movie, but we have a drive in movie theater 20 minutes from our house and it is one of the greatest outings, especially in the summer time. Over the course of our drive in's existence I have probably gone to see close to 10 or more movies there and each time has been such a fun adventure. On this particular night we went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean and Guardians of the Galaxy II, which were both great movies! 

I think drive in's might hold a special place in my heart, because they remind me of the "good ole days" when going to the drive in on a summer night was "the thing to do" for teens as they sat in their station wagons sipping cocacola, eating hotdogs, and snacking on popcorn as they listened to the movie sounds playing over the car speakers. Every time I visit the drive in, I can't help wanting to go back in time to the 50's, especially when you turn on the radio to the movie station and hear swing music playing before the feature. 

I've watched movies at the drive in packed into the back of a suburban like sardines, dangling off the tailgate of a truck, and sitting on a hill in lawn chairs.....there's no right or wrong way to watch a movie there, but sitting in the back of a truck has to be my favorite.....the only thing that would make it better is if I had a pink Cadillac to sit in (maybe one day). 

Nevertheless, whatever the season, or the movie (or movies, because at ours you get two features for $8) I always have a list of Drive In necessities:

1. Plenty of snacks! My favorite's to bring are popcorn, sour patch kids, reeses, twizzlers, and candy Peaches. If I am feeling extra, I might even buy something at the drive in like chili cheese fries or a large popcorn:)
2. Don't forget water, or lemonade, or a good old fashioned retro soda. 
3. TONS of pillows and blankets! I always pile the pack seat of the car full of all the pillows, blankets, and sleeping bags in the house to make a super fluffy bed to sit on. 
4. Bring games. Since we usually get to the theater around 6 pm, and the first movie doesn't start till around 8 it's always fun to have a few games to play while waiting. 
5. A boombox! This is one of the lifesavers, because if you use your car radio you can run out of battery and have to be jumped off at the end of the movie, so bringing a boom box keeps you from running down your car battery.

When summer rolls around all I want to do is eat watermelon (or any other summer associated treats), so when Hannah launched her spring skirt line I knew I just HAD TO HAVE this fabulous watermelon skirt! I have always been a fan of Hannah's skirts (see here, and here) and knew it was time to add another to my closet. 

Watermelon is the perfect novelty print for summer because what truly says summer more than watermelon? We cut it up and eat it at BBQs, we ice cakes to look like them, we cover our tables in watermelon printed table cloths, and babies run around in watermelon bathing suits.......I would almost say watermelon is an american summer emblem:) In our house we are huge fans of watermelon and always eat it in the summer or create new "watermelon" treats like homemade watermelon lemonade slushies (talk about delicious)! 

Regardless of whether or not you like watermelon, I can't get enough of it in my closet:) After I ordered this skirt I knew that I would be sharing it on the blog and immediately went to find a watermelon purse online to pair with it, and this little number that I found on ebay is the cutest summer accessory ever! As per Hannah Everly fashion I decided to mix a striped top with my skirt for a fun outfit combo and paired it with my white ked style sneakers from Target. And you can't really see it in these pictures but I am even wearing watermelon earrings...LOL

I might be a bit obsessed with this fruit......WARNING.....you might even see more of it on the blog this summer!
