Dresses are my favorite thing to wear in the spring! Maybe it is because my dress collection for the warmer months is busting at the seams, or maybe this season calls for fun, frilly, and ladylike pieces that make me want to dance and twirl around!
This darling yellow shift dress was a total GEM that I found at Ross, originally $129 I found it for $30 and just had to take it home with me (I found the same dress in black on amazon). The dress is reminisce of the 60's with its high lace collar and shift style, and seemed to remind me of  That Girl meets New Girl, so if that isn't a reason to love it I don't know what is!
This look was actually what I wore on Easter this year. I always seem to choose something a little different for Easter, whether it is a 1960's style or crown braid, or in this case a very frilly and girl dress. This dress is definitely a bit more outside my comfort zone with its shorter length and lacy collar, but I think that is why I love it....because it is different but at the same time it is still me and unique.
The dress itself is pretty frilly, so I chose to keep my accessories to a minimum, pairing these darling drop ball/hoop earrings as my only jewelry, a simple vintage cream clutch, and these modern suede strap heels. The whole look came together as a New Girl meets 1960's meets modern day class and I love everything about it, not to mention that the dress is yellow!
I feel quite ready for a spring party with the flowers!

Give me anything pink and I will be extremely happy, especially if it is light or blush pink! Ever since I was little I have always LOVED this color (as many girls do); I had a pink room for many years and if I ever had an option to pick a color it was always pink. However, as I have gotten older I have found that I don't wear as much pink as I used to, and that is why I was so excited to receive this perfect blush pink lace dress from StyleWe which truly made all of my girly pink dreams come true. 

To be honest, I feel like I should be at the Kentucky derby wearing this dress with a unique fascinator, but alas flowers and the downtown square will have to do:) With that being said, not only do I love the color of this dress, but the lace fabric and details are so feminine. I have always loved a good ladylike dress and this one fits the bill to a "T." I especially love the higher waist, shapely fabric, and thick pleats that give it a classic feel and will definitely be pulling it out for all the special occasions this spring/summer (to bad I don't have 7 weddings to attend this year).

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!.....it's that time of the year filled with flowers, chick flicks, every shade of red and pink as far as the eye can see, chocolate everything, and special notes to the ones you love. For so many people they hate this time of the year because they don't have someone "special" to spend it with and they are surrounded by so many happy couples that are in love.

 Nevertheless, while I don't have a special someone to spend the day with, I have always loved Valentines Day, and over the years I have embraced this day for celebrating my singleness and being happy with where I am at in life. 

To often we get so caught up in what we don't have, that we forget the incredible things we do have, like time to ourselves, free weekends, hours to read books, and so much more. Sure, we can all admit that we wish we could make memories with someone else, but for the time being making memories with ourselves is so very important, and we should cherish it! Speaking of books, I started the tradition last year of buying myself books for Valentines Day, because what better way to celebrate yourself and happiness than increase your library.....am I RIGHT, or am I RIGHT!!!

With that being said, for those of you who have a special someone, give them an extra kiss and write them a sweet note to show them how much they mean to you. And for those of you who don't have a "special someone" (like me),  I hope that you don't spend the day sad for what you don't yet have, but instead appreciate the incredible things you do have in your season of singleness.

I thought this special day called for all the ladylike and classic details, so I pulled out my favorite Hannah Everly polka dot skirt and paired it with a blush pink cashmere Talbot's sweater. I added the feminine details of a black velvet bow and sued flats and packed my Cat clutch with all the necessities (because what better accessory for a blogger on Valentines day, than to carry a cat clutch). Of course no Valentines Day look is complete without a bunch of flowers and read lipstick:)

Now, I am off to eat chocolate ice cream, read one of the books I gifted myself, and probably watch my traditional Valentines Day movie "The Lost Valentine."

This summer happens to be wedding season for our family! Not that anyone in my family is getting married (I am the oldest and that isn't in Gods plan yet) but more like the fact that we have seven weddings to attend this summer. This past Saturday was wedding #3 of 7. The strangest thing about a slew full of weddings is that while I absolutely ADORE wedding, taking in the layout, ceremony, dress, flowers, every little detail I am the absolute worst at mingling. While that might not be to surprising to hear coming from an introvert, I often find that I wish I was better at mingling and catching up with people, but alas I thoroughly lacking in that department. However, despite my shortcomings I still LOVE attending weddings, especially since my degree is partially in event planning and I always feel like I am doing research as well......apart from people watching of course! 

As can be imagined, with seven weddings this summer one must figure out what to wear for all of them. I find myself with a number of suitable dresses yet nothing I particularly want to wear. Thus, I had completely forgotten about this ladylike and flowy pastel dress from Forever 21. This dress was originally a Maxi dress I had picked up a couple of years ago and unfortunately have only worn it once since then. Therefore, I decided to turn it into a springy midi dress. I am quite in love with the simple transformation which created the perfect dress for a long list of summer weddings. Pair this flowy pastel dress with a pale pink necklace, vintage purse, and nude flats and you have the perfect wedding wear (not to mention it is comfortable enough to wear for a 3 hour car ride to a wedding). While I still have four more weddings to attend, this dress is bound to make a re-appearance at two of them.......after all, if the guest list isn't the same then why should my ensemble be different?
