Christmas Party Wear

Tuesday, December 19, 2017

Dress: Vintage | Belt: Vintage | Shoes: Thrifted (Michael Kors) | Earrings: c/o Happiness Boutique

Christmas is just around the corner, and with it comes a slew of Christmas parties, family gathering, holiday celebrations, and New Year parties. When it comes to parties, especially around this festive time of year I am always thinking about the perfect ensemble to wear to any holiday gathering. If you remember this post, I talked about finding happiness in the little details of outfits, and this festive Christmas look takes all of that into consideration.
I always love pulling in shades of the season into my looks, so this green vintage dress seemed like the perfect piece to pull out for a holiday party! Since the dress is green, it was only fitting that I paired a red belt with it to give it a more "christmasy" pop:) With all the colors of the look, I chose to play it simple, yet classic for my shoes and opted for this FABULOUS pair of Michael Kors nude block heels that I found for $8 at Goodwill......seriously my best steal ever!
However, nothing quite pulls a look together better than jewelry, and I am completely obsessed with these gold double ball drop earrings from Happiness Boutique......absolutely so classic and they give me so much retro inspiration I could seriously wear them with everything, but party wear is their true calling!
From classic heel and gold ball drop earring, to green dresses and plaid bows, this look has everything I need for a Holiday party, or Christmas Tea, or really whatever fancy "christmasy" thing I feel up to trying:)

Oh, and did I mention Happiness Boutique is offering all of you lovely readers 10% off with the code minniemuseblog until January 20th, so if you need some fabulous earrings for a special occasion you should browse their vast array of styles.

10 Scarves You Need This Fall

Thursday, October 12, 2017

Outfit Details:

Scarves Left to Right:

I don't know about you, but I am the BIGGEST fan of scarves in the fall! Whether it is a traditional scarf, chunky throw, or the ever perfect blanket scarf I am all about grabbing one to stay cozy and add a bit of color and pop to any look.
With the popularity of blanket scarves there is always the need for new prints that fit your personality and I can't get over the vast selection of scarves ilymix has to offer. I already have two blanket scarves that I am in LOVE with, but when ilymix reached out asking if I would like to share some of their scarves on the blog and pick one out for myself I couldn't wait to add one of their prints to my closet! While you could easily find me wearing any one of their fabulous scarves, I had to stick with my fall inspiration and chose one that had hints of orange, rust, and tan.....mainly because it reminded me of a pumpkin and it was perfect!!!
I can't wait till the weather actually gets crisp and cold in Texas so that I can bundle up in my Pumpkin Plaid scarf, because it is truly the softest and coziest thing ever! I think the best part of blanket scarves is that they have multiple uses, they can be a shawl, wrap, 3 different scarf styles, plus a blanket, picnic blanket, or throw.....so basically you just REALLY NEED ONE!!!

I picked out some of my favorite prints from their collection (above) that I absolutely LOVE!

And if you don't happen to have a blanket scarf, or find a print from ilymix that you can't live without you can use the discount code they sent for my readers: ILYMIX20

Are you a fan of blanket scarves?

Did you know you are BEAUTIFUL! You are VALUABLE and you are here for a PURPOSE!

I am so in LOVE with this shirt, not only because of its positive, uplifting, and valuable message, but also because it is from an organization with an incredible vision! Whatever Ministry reached out to me recently and asked if I would like to be a brand influencer for their shop Four:Eight. After hearing about what they stand for and what their mission is, I was completely sold and couldn't wait to share this with you all.

Whatever Ministry was inspired Phillipians 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything praiseworthy, think about these things." and I love that everything they do is influenced by this verse. Apart from having the cutest shop with products that encourage beauty, modesty, and value, they also hold events that promote the beauty of modesty as a lifestyle that starts with the heart and I LOVE that!

Because the message of Whatever Ministry is so important they were kind enough to give me a discount code for you all so that you can get one of these Beauty, Value, Purpose shirts for yourself (or a friend)! So hop on over to their shop and use the code MADISON48 for 10% off :)

I am back again with a NEW makeup tutorial and a fabulous post about my new favorite products with L'Oreal Paris! I have been a huge fan of L'Oreal Paris for years, but never ventured out of their mascaras, however after receiving a number of their new products I fell in love with everything about them and how perfectly they fit into my everyday makeup routine and life!

I was pretty blown away by the mascara, foundation, and lipstick and can't get enough of either one! As always, you can find any of the L'Oreal Paris products at your local drugstore or Target and they are definitely my new go to for a professional quality at an affordable price. My 4 Foolproof Brow Products

Tuesday, July 25, 2017

**All products were received for free, complimentary of Influenster and L'Oreal Paris**

When it comes to ones daily makeup routine I feel that brows are often the last thing you tend to think about. Maybe its because you don't want to take the time to shape your brows or maybe its because you haven't found the right product or tool to make the job easy peasy? I know I have been on the search for the perfect brow product over the past couple of years. I have tried nearly a dozen different pencils, gels, you name it, but nothing compares to these 4 foolproof products that I am sharing with you today!
I can't tell you how much I LOVE these four brow products and how they have completely changed my brow game, making it easier to work my brows into my makeup routine every day as well as give my brows a natural but defined shape. Whatever shade or consistency you are after these 4 products will be exactly what you need.

I received this Maybelline brow chalk free from influenster, and oh my gosh it is AMAZING! Unlike the typical brow products that are loose or pressed powders, this particular revolutionary formula is a chalk, which makes all the difference because it sticks better to your brows and stays all day without smudging. If you are looking for a brow product that will give you a defined shape in a smidgen of the time you HAVE to CHECK out Maybelline's Brow Drama Shaping Chalk, because this is what I reach for 95% of the time!

Mechanical pencil automatically sells this product for me! One of my go to brow products has always been brow pencils, but this one is created with a different technology than usual and has a mechanical end that is wide on one side for filling and pointy on the other end for shaping. If I am in a rush this is definitely what I reach for and it has a brow brush on the far end to blend the strokes together.

Okay, this brow tool is the coolest ever! Kabuki brushes are apparently a new fad in beauty and pairing it with a brow product has to be one of the greatest ideas! On one end of this tool is a fat pencil for filling in your brows (which works so great) and the other end has a kabuki brush for blending everything together with shape. The brush end is definitely a game changer when it comes to blending and I love how natural it makes my brows look.

If you are familiar with brow pencils this is probably one of my favorites that I have been using off and on over the years. One, you don't need a sharpener and two, its easy to use. This micro pencil definitely gives your brows a defined shape, so if you are going for a less natural look this is the tool for you.

Do you work brows into your makeup routine?
Have you used any of these brow products?

Gaby Teller

I can't help but feel like Gaby Teller in Man From Uncle with these fabulously 1960's style round shades that IlyMix so thoughtfully sent me! It's no lie that Man From Uncle is probably one of my favorite movies, not only because it is set in the 60's and stars Alicia Vikander, Henry Cavill, and Armie Hammer, but also because it is full of suspense, intrigue, car chases, gadgets, and all things SPY related. Grabbing these shades for a sunny day makes me feel like I should be a cunning secret agent like Gaby, undercover as an archaeologists fiance in Russia, where I am working to find and capture a deadly nuclear weapon from a mysterious and conniving criminal organization ;)

With that being said, the 1960's have definitely been one of my style inspirations as of late, and these shades are the icing on the cake! I haven't actually ever worn round sunglasses but as soon as I saw these  I knew that they would be the perfect addition to my ever growing sunglasses collection and I LOVE them so much. Of course, as these shades were straight out of the 1960's I had to have the perfect dress to compliment them, and the Windy City dress (pictured in a different color above) from Modcloth fit my vision splendidly! I picked up this darling dress when I visited Modcloth in Austin during my roadtrip, and this dress is definitely a 60's dream in an airy pastel color scheme and print that I can't get enough of!

Ok.....and can we talk about how much I am loving 1960's style earrings after styling this look based of of Gaby's fabulous style. I actually found the pair I am wearing by luck at Goodwill and while I am typically not a big dangle earring fan I think I will be wearing these a lot:)

There really is something different and unique about the 60's, and any time I get to dress in a look that is inspired by a secret agent character I am all for it!

Have you see Man From Uncle?
Are you a fan of round shades?
