Happiness In The Details

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

 Sweater: Target
Jeans: Thrifted + Upcycled
Jacket: Forever 21 (old)
Purse: Coach (thrifted)
Shoes: Target
Hat: c/o Gamiss
Earrings: c/o Happiness Boutique

Something about fall has me trying out new styles and this look is definitely one of them! While this look is quite new for me, it's something that I have loved seeing on others, specifically on Olivia who always rocks Beret's with cutoff jeans and simple gold hoop earrings. I decided to try my hand at styling something modernly 70's after receiving these perfect gold dangle hoop earrings from Happiness Boutique and I can't get over how much I love this combo.

Happiness Boutique was created to be "inspiration for positive and authentic women; a place to make women not only look good, but also feel good," and through this they created a business where women could be happy and spread happiness! When they reached out to me I was curious to see their jewelry and the different styles they offered and I absolutely fell in love with everything I saw. The styles of Happiness Boutique blend timeless classics with a charming vintage touch and I love everything about them:)

I often forget about the small details of earrings when it comes to outfits and I know this look wouldn't be complete without these dangle hoop earrings that pulled everything together. You know the phrase that goes something along the lines of "its the little things in life....."? Well I think it is the little details in every outfit that add a pop of excitement and happiness to any ensemble. For me, the happy detail in this look is the earrings and I can't get enough of them! With all the details of this look it's quite french meets modern, meets 1970's artist and I'm obsessed :)

With happiness as their mission, Happiness Boutique is offering 10% off to all my readers with the code minniemuseblog, so I hope you go and find a pair of earrings that makes you just as happy as these make me. Also, stay tuned for another post coming soon, featuring my second favorite pair of earrings from this lovely brand!

Blanket Scarf 4 Ways

Saturday, January 28, 2017

If there is one fall/winter accessory that is a great versatility piece it would have to be the blanket scarf! This cozy and flowy scarf is the perfect piece to grab as you run out the door. It can be used as a scarf, shawl, or blanket when it gets a bit chilly. With it's versatility there are an endless amount of ways you can style a blanket scarf, so keep on reading for my top 4 ways you can style yours:

Square Fold:
This style is achieved by folding the square scarf in half two times or more for a boxy style.

The Swag:
This style is achieved by folding the scarf corner to corner and then draping it around your
shoulders for an elegant "swag".

Modern Prep:
If there is one blanket scarf style we are familiar with it is this one! This style is achieved by folding the scarf corner to corner, draping it in front of you (with the point facing down) and then crossing the ends behind your neck and draping them back to the front sides.

Twist & Turn:
I actually created this style while taking pictures and LOVE how it turned out! This style is achieved by folding the scarf corner to corner and then twisting it into a long snake shape. Drape around you neck leaving one side longer in the front, then take that longer side and cross it in front of the other side, pull behind and bring it back down to the front. Lastly pull the back end up and over the front cross piece, and then pulling it down and to the side.

Sweater: Thrifted (Croft & Barrow)
Scarf: Target

Now it's your turn! Grab your blanket scarf or use this as an excuse to finally buy one and try out theses styles for yourself.

Simplicity & Fall Accessories

Top: Thrifted
Sweater: Thrifted
Pants: Thrifted (Forever 21)
Shoes: Thrifted
Socks: Forever 21
Purse: c/o Gamiss
Watch: c/o JORD

Long time no see! It truly seems like it has been forever since I sat down to write a post, but it hasn't been that long. I felt a little off the blogging game since life got a bit busy and I didn't have many posts planned out, but here is one that I have been looking forward to for a few weeks!

I have come to appreciate the simplicity of fashion. While most often I go for something full of colors, prints, and multiple aspects, there are many times that simplicity is so perfect in itself. I created this outfit based off of THIS look worn my Mary in the movie "About Time." I fell in love with her simple and yet ladylike style and couldn't help loving how perfectly fall her outfit was...plus we basically have the same hairstyle:) While sweaters are definitely my go to in the fall months, there is something so perfectly comforting in an oversized chunky sweater!

Aside from the simplicity in fashion, the best accessory to top off a look such as this is also to pair a simple piece with it. This Zebra and Navy wood watch from JORD is the perfect fall accessory! I haven't always been that into watches, but this piece definitely changes the game up a bit! Not only does the simple and unique style go with nearly everything in my closet, but the wood texture compliments all of the earthy tones of fall, making it a recurring accessory in my everyday wardrobe. The wood styles of JORD watches truly add a bit of nature into every ensemble in their natural construction and I especially love the dark shade of this lovely watch they sent me.

If you think about it, watches have always been a classic and timeless (see what I did there) accessory throughout the years, not to mention that they keep you on track and help you never to be late. If you are interested in getting one of these classic wood watches for yourself, JORD has put together a GIVEAWAY and the winner will receive a $75 eGift Card and everyone else who enters will receive a $20 eGift Card (Contest ends November 13th and codes expire January 1st).

Have you ever heard of wood watches?
